Ebb and Flow Table

User's Guide
Ebb
and Flow Table
The
FlowTable is a very efficient tool that is widely used
among horticulturists. It can be installed in no time. Your system will
be up and running in 5 minutes. The table can be used all year round
for your indoor plants. With its significant depth, it can be used with
the following methods: tides, drop by drop (droplets) and NFT.
Made of shock-resistant material, it is designed for perfect
draining, without any risk of flooding or clogged pipes.

Operation
To operate your
ebb and flow table, you will need a pump and a timer. The ebb and flow
table is a general-purpose system which enables you to use several
media like the wool bread, the pearlite or of the clay balls.
Dimensions
It comes in
5 sizes : 920 x920 mm, 610 x1220 mm, 1220 x 1220 mm, 1220 x 1830 mm,
and 1220 x 1830 mm (3’ x 3’, 2’ x 4’, 4’ x 4’, 4’ x 6’ and 4’ x 8’).
All tables are over 150 mm (6”) deep.

Easy to use
The
nutrient solution reservoir is the main component of any automatic
watering system. Measuring and mixing the nutrient solution is easy
with these heavy-duty reservoirs, made of black ABS plastic with easy-to-read
scale marks. Three sizes are available: 100, 260 and 378 liters.

Ebb and flow cultivation
Install the water supply and drainage components (PPI accessories).
When using rock wool, place some slabs at the bottom of the table,
then put some cubes over them. For maximum root development, make
sure that the cubes can't move during the first few days. As for clay
pebbles, since they float, you must use a net or a screen to make
sure that they stay in the table during the ebb and flow process.
If you are using pots, you simply have to put them on the table.

Drop by drop
Install a drop by drop irigation system supplying each one of your plants,
set up one or more drainage of water. In the rockwool case, position
rockwool breads in the content of the table then place your cubes at
the top. In the pots use case, you just have to pose them on the table
and to connect them to the irrigation.

NFT
Install the water arrival on one side of the table over all the width,
establish a slope of at least 6° by taking the water arrival like
high point. Install the water drainage on the opposite side to the arrival.
Position the capillarity carpet on all the bottom of the table. You
just have to place your root cubes on the carpet and to cover the table
by a cover or an opaque lid in which you will have taken care to cut
out spaces so that the air parts of your plants can develop or fill
by balls of clays.

Growing tips
When implanting your cuttings (except for clay pebbles), be careful
not to over-irrigate during the first week. You must wait until the
root system is fully developed before you water your plants freely.
With the NFT system, you must only transfer your cuttings when the roots
can be in direct contact with the capillary carpet.
